美国移民和海关执法局(ICE)今年头八个月已拘留38名香港市民，近月更进一步影响合法留境及工作的港人。根据当地政治网媒报道，自6月以来，ICE在美国多个机场拘留最少12名香港人，胁迫他们签署自愿离境协议。协助相关港人获释的团体估计，当局此举可能是要在他们的合法居留身份於明年2月届满时，尽快将他们驱逐出境。而这些人当中，不少人若被遣返回港，有可能被捕。
